About The Petrichor Witch

Growing up in the PNW with most of my time spent in meadows and forests, and being an avid animal lover, it should be no surprise that I ended up with a strong love for nature and all she entails. As a teen and young adult, I dabbled in the pagan path as my respect for nature was blossoming, but it really wasn't until I was much older that I jumped with both feet and submerged myself fully in it. My love and respect for nature has continued to blossom and grow over time and I am truly at home amongst her trees, waters, and skies. Mother Earth is a force to be reckoned with, yet she also holds so much beauty and wonderment and magick within. We often forget that we ourselves are a part of that wonderment and magick that Mother Earth has created, which is why I find it so vital to spend time with her and to work on the bond that has developed over the years.

In the Spring and Summer, and really even into the Fall, you can often find me hiking IN the rivers rockhounding, camping in low traffic dispersed sites, hiking some of our favorite trails, or simply just sitting in the dirt listening to the sounds of the forest. The colder months are hard for me as I have the itch to get outside, but my body struggles to warm up after being in the cold for long periods. Thus, I have adapted with my creative side to spend more time working on crafts during the Winter. Eventually, this led to combining nature and paganism into my crafts and I began making spell bottles, jewelry, and now candles as well.

As a wife and mother of two, I have had my struggles with balancing kids, home, marriage, work, and life in general, with setting time aside to work on my craft. Enter spell bottles to the rescue! I love these little bottles that I can create once and then either keep it in my pocket or purse to keep the intention going and if I feel the energy needs to be revamped, I just hold the bottle and recite a quick affirmation or blessing. If I happen to have some real extra time on my hands, I can light one of the candles created with a set intention and just take a moment to meditate and refocus my energy.

These two simple items are exactly what I need when life is busy, and I feel like I'm in the middle of a dry spell in regard to practicing my craft. These items bring the 'rain' so to speak and help me keep my connection with Mother Earth and her energy strong. It is my hope that by providing these handmade products to others, I may aid them by providing the 'water' for them to continue to grow in their own magick even when life is busy.
